Vision and mission

According to the vision of the Putumayo organization, indigenous peoples have the right to self-determination. Pursuant to this right they can decide freely the priorities of their economic, social and cultural development.

The mission of the Putumayo organization is the strengthening of the capacity and the organization of the indigenous peoples of the Putumayo region, so that they can shape their community life independently and in line with their own views. That is why the association supports proposals and initiatives from these indigenous peoples, as they have a lack of financial, technical and human resources to carry these out on their own.
